Women's World Cup Soccer

My last national soccer game was Washington DC. I was 8 years old and carried the American Flag out on to the field. I don't remember what game it was but I know I was there. Months ago the military offered up tickets to the USA V. Colombia game. I jumped at the chance. It was one of those days where living in Germany ruled. We would never have done this in the states. It was so nice to be around a bunch of Americans again. We didn't know them. They didn't know us. We were all there for the same reason. Loved it. The game was awesome. 3-0. The team dominated the entire match.  They scored in the first five minutes. Of couse Dev and I were talking to each other and missed it. We caught on because Drake was out of his seat, waving the flag and screaming. Thank goodness they scored again. Would've hated to have missed the one goal they made.  We didn't even hit any traffic. It was an awesome day. And I got to drink some beer and dip my pretzel in it. My favorite thing ever. If US beats Sweden, one of 2 teams to beat them all year, on Wednesday then they will play again on Sunday and we will try for tickets to those. Either way, we'll be cheering them on.

To celebrate the 4th tomorrow-Shane is coming home from Iraq. I've done the math and he's spent 795 days in that country. I think that's enough for a lifetime. He lands early in the morning, his work is picking him up and hopefully he'll be home before I head to work. Then to celebrate Independence Day we are heading on base for hotdogs, friends, beer and fireworks. Pretty excited. Last year we didn't get to see fireworks. This year we will and we'll be together as a family. Doesn't get any better than that. Happy 4th of July!
PS-sorry for the wonky post, I can't fix it cos I don't know why it looks like this. It is what it is.

It was awesome.
