1st week done

and it feels good. The classes are getting a bit old. In class from 8-5 with an hour for lunch and all we do is study penal codes, the constitution, court systems...etc. None of which I'll really need to know but the ones who are going to be police officers do so I'm stuck with them. I like the people I'm going to be working with. 3 of us eat lunch together at the academy. I learned real quick it wasn't worth leaving the academy because it's a good drive to get any where and you are expected to be present 10 minutes before you are off the clock for lunch. Cussing. There's lots and lots of cussing. I cussed in front of another PSO, that's me, and she was shocked that I would cuss. She said, "you look so conservative." Um hello. I then went on to tell her some sexual stories, how the hubby likes to sit and pee, and how I really do have a sailors tongue. Me...conservative? I'll just give her a few more weeks or I'm sure she'll see my true language when I get sprayed in the face with pepper spray. Shit. As for physical fitness, it's not a requirement. I do do it. Me and one other girl are the only ones who do the PT part of the academy. My first day was a run and it was about 110 outside. I thought that I would be fine cos I had been running. Then we went up a huge hill, which set my breathing off and the heat and the pressure but I thought I was okay cos if I wanted to walk then I could. Wrong. The cadets will have to double time it back to you if you fall behind or start walking so they'll be doing twice the work. I learned real quick that I wasn't going to have anyone have to double time it and come back and get me. I was in the back with the bigger cadets and I'm okay with it. One day we had a PX90 class and I was a leader. Easy day. Today the cadets were carrying a dummy over an obstacle course and so the other PSO and I asked if we could run and run we did. 2.5 miles. It wasn't as hot today and we did it rather quickly. Tomorrow I have a test on the criminal codes and penal codes. I'll be fine. So far I've gotten 2 100s and one 87.5. The 87 was on the different amendments so I'm cool with it.
4th of July came and went. We had a family over for Cranium. Adults v. Kids and the adults are outnumbered by 4. There was a Mind Meld where the team was given a topic and the team had to write three things associated with the topic. One matching answer between team mates would win them that question. The topic was Angelina Jolie. I got the privilege of reading the kids answers and one of Justin's was: I'd do her. I so can't wait to scrap it. It was the only pic I took on the 4th. And as most of you know the TallyRally is this weekend. Can't wait. Scrapbooking here I come....and jell-o shots.
